by erin on July 11, 2011

Because Shanghai is such a vital cultural and economic Chinese city, it’s the most populated city in the country. It’s also beautiful. Located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, it is a city world-renowned for its sparkling skyline and beautiful appearance. It’s recently become a very popular tourist destination, and for good reason. If you are planning on a trip to this city any time soon, start by getting your passport online. Even passport renewals are available if your passport is expired.

Passport Services

There are so many things we are now able to purchase online, but it’s still understandable to feel worried about buying something as important as a passport on the Internet. However, there are extremely secure and government-approved passport vendors that make it easy to get a passport or any other passport service, including passport replacements, renewals, and even things like expedited passport pages if you’re running low in your current passport. They make the process so simple, and all it takes is a few minutes in front of a computer. Probably the best part is being able to pick the delivery date for your passport. Whether you need it in a couple weeks or a couple days, they can make it happen.

Loved Attraction

Among the most well-loved attractions in Shanghai is the Bund, a site that is viewed as the symbol of the city. The Bund is a grade-A place to just wander, as the colonial-era streets and buildings, multitude of stores of all types, cute cafes, and cozy restaurants make it easy to spend a relaxing day in Shanghai, even amidst all the craziness of the city. It’s absolutely beautiful at night, as the lights from the city from across the river reflect in the water and this makes for a beautiful sight. You can also see China’s tallest building, Jin Mao Tower. Getting to stand in historic Shanghai while looking into the modern lit-up version of of today is pretty amazing. Also be sure to visit the opposite side of the river and walk on the Promenade.

Long History

Shanghai has an incredibly long history serving as an important trade center. And so as you might expect, there’s a lot history to discover. The Shanghai History Museum is one of the top ways to uncover some of this history, as well as some of the unique Chinese culture. The museum is packed with artifacts and ancient Chinese treasures, illustrating the various stages of history and growth in Shanghai’s history.

Shopping Districts

If you love to shop, Tian Zi Fang is the place to go. This is one of Shanghai’s most popular shopping districts, and it has an interesting history to match. This area was once a neighborhood faced with demolition, until a few people stepped in and had it renovated and turned into what it is today. There is a whole variety of stores to browse, as well as a selection of cute cafes and nice restaurants.

Magnificent City

Shanghai is such a magnificent city, and you’ll never experience a dull moment while you’re visiting. Getting to sip delicious tea in an authentic tea house, embarking on a dazzling river tour, or walking through some of the beautiful temples are all things you can’t miss out on. Just don’t forget that a passport is required, and that an old can be taken care of online with passport renewals.
