Sharp JX 9685 – A Well Rounded Printer

The Sharp JX 9685 Printer model using Sharp JX 9685 Toner is from a class of black and white laser printers manufactured by Sharp. This printer has an output of 12 pages per minute with duplex capabilities. It has a 600 dpi print quality and image-enabled Windows® driver. The driver handles scanned images at a speed of six to ten pages per minute. It is the same as the class of black ink printers available today.

The JX 9685 printer was first introduced in 1997 as a small office solution. The printer is designed to work as a standalone or in a workgroup network. The printer uses the Sharp JX 9685 Toner Cartridge. The toner cartridge produces high quality black and white prints and images for the printer. The separate drum cartridge weighs approximately 5 lbs and is used in tandem with the toner/developer. The drum transfers the ink powder from the toner to the paper. The drum cartridge for this printer has a life twice that of the toner cartridge.

Print yields for this printer are based on the ISO/IEC 19752 standard for monochromatic electrophotographic printers. These standards ensure that consumer information is reliable throughout the industry for comparable products. The standard rates a printer’s ability to provide a 5% area coverage of printing which the yield measures.
