A Quick Peek At Some Key Features Of The Dell 3110C Printer

by erin on June 7, 2011

The Dell 3110C printer is capable of delivering monochrome and color printing requirements. Using laser technology, it can meet the productivity needs of a busy office environment, especially because it can be equipped with an optional duplexer. There are multiple connectivity options around so it can be used with a single computer or shared by a network.

Simple Operation

On the top panel of this black machine are a few buttons and status LCD that help make its operation simple. It comes with a 400MHz processor, fast enough for it to dish out as many as 31 monochrome and 17 color (letter size) pages a minute. But these numbers may vary depending on the content of the document and other factors.

Office Printing

Within it is a 128MB memory, which is capable of storing enough data for handling day-to-day office printing needs. However, it’s upgradeable to 1152MB for your increasing demands. This is done by simply buying and installing a higher SDRAM (DIMM 200-pin type). Included printer languages are PCL 5e and PCL 6 (81 fonts) and PostScript 3 (136 fonts).

Wireless Connection

One thing that’s missing here is a wireless connectivity option. Hooking it up to a single computer is made easy by the presence of both a parallel IEEE 1284 (EPP/ECP) and hi-speed USB 2.0 ports. Likewise, there are a variety of operating systems it’s compatible with for hassle-free installation. The Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX port allows it to be shared by a network of computers.

Optical Resolution

This laser printer has an optical resolution of up to 600 dpi x 600 dpi (dots per inch), shared by both monochrome and color printing. Evidently, it’s not the largest resolution these days in a printing machine but it’s enough for producing clear and crisp documents. There’s also the Image Enhancement Technology 2400 IQ, which allows for professional-looking printouts.

Compatible Media

Media types it’s compatible with are wide-ranging – regular paper, recycled, and coated, cards, labels, envelopes and transparencies. Media sizes it can work on are A5, A4, B5, letter, legal and executive. With the manual feed slot and single paper input tray, it’s capable of handling up to 400 media sheets. Again, a duplexer may be installed to meet two-sided printing requirements faster and automatically.

Toner Cartridges

Already included when you purchase this office printer are 4 toner cartridges. These include black, magenta, yellow and cyan. With the exception of the black toner cartridge, which can yield as many as 5000 pages, all of them are capable of yielding 4000 pages. The manufacturer has set the duty cycle to 60000 pages per month.

Elegant Color

It may be placed in an office regardless of the decor already there because of its elegant black color. It has a body measuring 18.5″ (height) x 15.8″ (width) x 19.1′” (depth). Since it’s a bit heavy, weighing 52.9 pounds, having a designated space for it is recommended instead of having to move it around the office each time.

Highly Economical

The Dell 3110C printer is actually highly economical. This is due to the fact that it employs the laser technology, known to yield cost per page that’s lower with its toner. Although it’s true that a laser’s tag price is steeper than an inkjet rival, in the long run, the money-saving benefit can be enjoyed since consumables are generally cheaper.
