What To Know About The Xerox XC23 Printer

by erin on March 3, 2010

While it’s true that Xerox no longer offers the Xerox XC23 printer as new, this is a model many people have and many will find valuable.  There are quite a few used printers of this model for sale though, and you may very well be in the market for one. A simple online search will result in plenty of retailers that have this model in stock. Following are the specifications for this printer/copier that uses Xerox XC23 toner, as well as some basic information.

This printer/copier prints up to 23 ppm in black and white. Depending on what you are using the printer for, this is a pretty decent print and copy speed. You need to keep in mind that this model is in fact a copier and a printer. The speed reflects that and one would not expect a machine that copies and prints to have a page per minutes as fast as a stand alone printer.

This printer has a maximum input of 750 sheets automatic and 50 sheets manual. The maximum monthly volume is at 20,000 sheets, so this copier is a workhorse as far as productivity goes. It comes standard with an automatic document feeder, collator, and stapler. The collator type is sorting bins, and there is no binder available.

This particular printer uses a light lens. It also uses standard cartridges that you can purchase from the Internet. It should be noted that this printer is not really meant for home use. Weighing in at 152 pounds this would best serve a business.

The printer comes with five different preset enlargement/reduction settings, allowing you to format your copies however you wish. There is also a maximum multicopy setting of 99, so basically you can print up to 99 pages at a time without resetting.

As I mentioned before, this is a sizable machine.  It weighs 152 pounds and its dimensions are 35.5 x 24.2 x 22 inches. This would be a nice size for small business use, but may be a bit much for personal use. Depending on what you need this device for, it does appear to be very efficient, and when you consider the fact that it would be a used purchase at a lower price, it is still feasible to consider it for home use, if you have the space available.

All in all, this does seem to be a pretty efficient machine.  This is very similar to what I would expect to see at my local grocery store or small print shop for basic copies. A straight forward, no fuss copier and printer, with a decent work load and simple user interface. Because it is a basic no frills model, even beginners should not have any problem using this machine.

Since the Xerox XC23 Printer is no longer available new, you would have to purchase a used one. There are numerous companies online that have these for sale. They seem to run about $250 used, and the replacement cartridges are approximately $80-$85. For the price, this may very well be worth the investment even though is discontinued.

Finding Xerox XC23 toner won’t be a worry as you can do a search online for Xerox toner and see many dealers.  Toner prices are excellent when using this method.
